Centrifugal Fan Dry Air Coolers (CFC)
Our Dry Air Coolers are engineered to deliver reliable, energy-efficient cooling for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications. Designed to cool water, glycol, and process fluids without direct contact with ambient air, these systems provide precise temperature control while reducing water consumption and ongoing maintenance requirements. Dry air coolers are commonly used in process cooling systems, HVAC applications, refrigeration plants, data centres, power generation facilities, and manufacturing environments where dependable heat rejection is essential.
How Dry Air Coolers Work
Dry air coolers operate by transferring heat from a process fluid into the surrounding air through a finned heat exchange coil. Warm water or glycol circulates through the coil while axial or centrifugal fans draw ambient air across the fins. As air passes over the coil surface, heat is removed from the fluid and discharged into the atmosphere.
Unlike evaporative cooling systems, dry air coolers do not rely on water evaporation to reject heat. This makes them a cleaner, lower-maintenance, and more environmentally efficient solution for many industrial processes.
Cooling Process
The cooling cycle typically follows these stages:
- Heat Absorption — Process equipment generates heat during operation. This heat is transferred into a circulating fluid, usually water or a water/glycol mixture.
- Fluid Circulation — The heated fluid is pumped through the dry air cooler coil system.
- Heat Exchange — Ambient air is drawn across the finned coil surface by high-efficiency fans. Heat transfers from the fluid inside the tubes to the external airflow.
- Cooled Fluid Return — The cooled fluid returns back to the process equipment to absorb additional heat, creating a continuous cooling cycle.

Energy Efficiency & Process Control
Modern dry air coolers provide excellent energy performance through intelligent fan speed control and optimised coil surface design. Variable speed EC fans automatically adjust airflow to match process demand, significantly reducing energy consumption during lower load conditions.
Advanced controls can also maintain precise process temperatures, helping improve production consistency, equipment reliability, and overall system efficiency.
Advantages of Dry Air Cooling
Reduced Water Usage — Because dry air coolers do not use evaporative cooling, there is little to no ongoing water consumption.
Lower Maintenance — Dry systems eliminate many of the maintenance issues associated with cooling towers, including water treatment, scaling, and legionella management.
Reliable Operation — Designed for continuous industrial duty, dry air coolers provide stable cooling performance with minimal downtime.
Environmentally Efficient — Lower water usage and energy-efficient fan technology help reduce environmental impact and operating costs.
